2007 08 28: The machine running IPX lost a CPU and had to be replaced. This should also clear up some of the performance problems.

2006 09 11: The network that this server is on was an unwilling participate of several denial of service attacks. As it turned out, one of our upstream ISP's had replaced a defective router and they had not completely duplicated the configuration, allowing traffic that they had blocked for 4 years. Since we made no attempts on our end to block this type of traffic it took quite a bit of work to find and correct the problem. I'm sorry if anybody was effected by this.

Thanks for your understanding!

Currently there are 81,950 IP number ranges on our database. Last updated 1 April 2008.

This is an IP nation check system, provided as a service to the entire Internet by Pagenation.com. This application runs on Microsoft Windows 2003 Server with MSSQL database back-end.

What it does

This is yet another simple application. We wrote it in ASP for the MS Windows Servers and the back-end is on a MSSQL relational database. The software is pretty simple. The hard part is keeping a relational database up and running 7 days/week, 24 hours/day.

IPX went into service on June 20, 2004. We changed the data model slightly and moved it to a larger machine on April 15, 2008. In the process, we kissed the logs goodbye.

Contributors for the original software was Peter Tong.
